Teach in China

Interview questions were answered by Christopher Labuschagne – a South African Physical Education/English teacher over here in Beijing, China.
.
⦁ Why did you decide to teach in China?
I chose to come to work in China due to the great opportunities that are afforded to teachers in the country. China is one of the, if not the fastest growing economies globally and to work in this cultural and vibrant country seemed like the perfect next step on my journey.

⦁ What advice with you give someone looking to start their teaching journey here in China?
Start the process with an open mind and open heart, and you will experience the beauty of this country and its people!

⦁ Who is your biggest inspiration within the teaching community?
Anro Spykstra is currently a PE teacher at BIBS International Primary School. Another teacher Ignite Recruitment place when onboarded in August 2022. He inspired me to be not only a better person and role model for the kids but also a sculptor who has a role to play in sculpting the next generation of leaders!

⦁ How have you found the experience of dealing with recruiters over here in China?
The only agents I’ve been in contact with are the agents at Ignite, who have been so helpful and knowledgeable about every step of the process of entering the country. Not only that but their knowledge and know-how of the ins and outs of the different schools and opportunities are second to none!

⦁ Where do you see yourself in five years?
Five years from now I still see myself working as a PE teacher in China or maybe another Asian or European country.

On behalf of everyone at Ignite. Thank you for your time in providing an insight into your journey.
