Overview:
Online PGCE courses are an excellent way to change direction and become a teacher if you cannot make a commitment to a campus-based course. What is a PGCE program? The PGCE – Postgraduate Certificate in Education – allows postgraduate students to work in a variety of educational settings and become qualified teachers in the UK with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Derby University: £2,625 for UK & Overseas students

Essex University: £3,000 for ALL citizens

Why not try our short PG Certificate Education (Educational Practice)*? This programme will give you a chance to understand theories of learning, philosophy, and education led by expert tutors.
Working alongside fellow teaching professionals, this course examines professional practice in higher education. Nottingham University: £4,200 for UK citizens
“You will compare teaching approaches in different countries and develop a global approach to education. It does not matter what age or subject you teach – the PGCEi is relevant to all curricula and phases.
The PGCEi has always been a blended course with elements of face-to-face teaching combined with asynchronous distance learning. We have responded to Covid-19 and the continuing high demand for this course by enhancing the blended nature of the programme to remodel the elements taught in-person prior to the pandemic.”

Sunderland University: £8,700 for UK citizens
“GCE Education Independent Distance Learning (IDL) at the University of Sunderland is an internationally recognised teaching qualification. The course blends applied teaching theory and practice in three taught modules and one extended teaching practice module. It has been developed so that it can be delivered to primary, secondary, and post-16 teachers and to any subject specialism. It is a 36-week full-time course, completed in one academic year which can be undertaken both in the UK and in international settings.

Two of the modules are research-based and at Masters level, preparing you for further postgraduate study which will qualify you for progression to Stage 2 of our MA International Education or MA Education, both available as distance learning courses.”

At the Cornerstone Institute in South Africa, the online PGCE costs R375.00 per module credit for all students, international students may have to pay an additional student fee depending on which country they are from.
